5 Litres Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Genuine, Latest Harvest, Single Estate
04/10/2026
Good olive oil should be a pleasure to choose and enjoy. At Extra Virgin Olive Oil Direct, we do the choosing with care: we only stock the latest harvest, made by first cold pressing. Our aim is simple: to bring you the best-quality oil we can source at the best price we can offer.
You can leave the harvest selection to us. This short guide explains the dates on your bottle and a few easy ways to look after your oil at home.
Always the latest harvest
The harvest date tells you when the olives were picked. We only ever have the latest harvest, so you do not need to compare older and newer harvests when shopping with us.
Our oil is generally made in the first week of December, by first cold pressing. That is the starting point for the oil we bring to your kitchen.
Unfiltered and filtered oil through the year
We offer unfiltered oil for half the year and filtered oil for the other half. Both are part of our latest-harvest range, with different shelf lives:
- Unfiltered oil: a shelf life of one year.
- Filtered oil: a shelf life of two years.
The label on your bottle gives you its best-before date and any specific storage instructions, making it easy to plan your everyday use.
Harvest date and best-before date: a simple distinction
Think of the harvest date as the oil's starting point, and the best-before date as the producer's guide to enjoying it at its best. They tell you different things, but there is no need to overcomplicate them: we choose the latest harvest, and you can follow the date and guidance on your bottle.
Choosing a size for your kitchen
Our 2 Litre Extra Virgin Olive Oil is an option for households that use olive oil regularly. For a larger size, choose our 5 Litre Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Choose a size that fits the way you cook, whether you are dressing salads, finishing dishes or preparing everyday meals.

Your bottle's label is the handy reference for its best-before date and storage guidance.
Three easy habits for storing your oil
- Keep it cool. A cupboard away from the hob, oven and radiators is a good place.
- Keep it dark. Store it away from direct sunlight, especially if the bottle is clear.
- Keep it capped. Put the cap back on after pouring, and follow any after-opening guidance on the label.
If you prefer a smaller pouring bottle, use a clean, dry container and keep it cool, dark and capped too. These simple habits help you look after the oil we have chosen for you.
We choose it with care. You enjoy it.
Latest harvest, first cold pressing and a focus on quality and value: that is our approach. Choose the size that suits your kitchen, give it a cool, dark home and enjoy using it in the food you love.
